Essential Job Functions

• Properly load correct cardboard for cartons and dividers into former machine

• Monitor forming process and dispose of any incorrectly formed cartons following disposal/recycling guidelines

• Bail scrap cardboard during and at the end of the scheduled shift

• Safe operation of bailer equipment

• Remove banding from cardboard stacks and dispose of strapping using appropriate methods of disposal

• Monitor and comply with all changeover requirements to eliminate carton waste

• Assign with former changeovers by removing unformed cartons and stacking safety in designated areas

• Minor maintenance with training – removes jammed cardboard, minor machine maintenance following all safe work practices

• Perform quality checks including entering data into computer software proficiently

• Fill glue holders

• Excellent computer skill set regarding product check responsibilities

• Strong communication skills regarding machine problems and quality requirements

• Maintain clean, safe, and efficient workstations – dispose of trash in correct disposal methods (cardboard recycling, area cleanliness including used rag recycling). Area must be maintained throughout shift and final cleanup at end of scheduled shift

• Ability to start equipment and identify basic mechanical issues

• Follow all safety requirements including using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment – PPE (safety glasses, required footwear, hearing protection, hand protection, correct lifting methods, product disposal, etc.)

• Support all changeover requirements of commodity product

• All additional work tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school degree or equivalent

• Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience

• Ability to stand and walk for periods of time

• Able to work scheduled overtime or shift changes when required

• Basic math skill set

• Excellent communication skill set (verbal, written, etc.)

• Team building skill set and positive interaction with all levels within the organization and outside vendors/customers

• Ability to complete all job assigned computer software requirements associated with product requirements

• Able to lift to 50 pounds periodically throughout the manufacturing shift and meet physical requirements of position including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, reaching with both hands/arms, ability to visually inspect product

• Mechanically inclined to perform minor machine corrections within job responsibilities
