Nuclear Fuel Services Manager, Industrial Health & Safety in Lynchburg, Virginia

BWXT is currently seeking a Manager, Industrial Health & Safety for its Lynchburg, VA location!

The Industrial Safety & Health Professional will manage safety engineers and technicians.

Job Description/Duties:

  • Monitor plant activities and recommend measures or actions to ensure all work is performed safely.

  • Provide oversight of changes within facility incorporating OSHA, NRC, NFPA, and ANSI code requirements as applicable.

  • Provide consultation and advice to all levels of management and shop personnel.

  • Manage a comprehensive safety management system and compliant safety program.

  • Develop and maintain industrial health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Monitor and assess facility activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Oversee workers compensation program for site.

    This position is an active member of the site's emergency response team and will be expected to respond to emergencies as needed during regular and non-regular business hours.

    Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • B.S. Industrial Safety or Industrial Hygiene (or equivalent).

  • Minimum 10 years of industrial safety experience.

  • Minimum 5 years in a management role.

  • Must demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communications.

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.

  • Must be able to maintain confidential/personal information and materials.

  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
