Position: Office Personnel 2 -- Food Service Assistant

Essential Job Functions:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not exclusive and may be supplemented as necessary.

  • Assist the Food Service Supervisor with ordering supplies, menu planning, and inventory.
  • General office admin assistant responsibilities (answering phones, emails, communications, filing) and use of general office equipment and computer programs.
  • Assist the Director in documentation of school visits for program compliance.
  • Assist the Director in preparing information to assess productivity & efficiency of the Food Service Program.
  • Pick up daily deposit receipts from bank and make deposits.
  • Assist in review of bank statement reconciliation and deposit records.
  • Assist in review of free and reduced lunch applications and data entry of information into MealTime.
  • Assist in updates and maintain Direct Certification listing for the district.
  • Update and maintain McKiney Vento and Foster students per District Liaison
  • Maintenance and distribution of free and reduced rosters
  • Assist parents with setting up accounts online and managing online payments
  • Assist collecting money for overdrawn accounts when needed.
  • Assist with ordering supplies when needed.
  • Help trouble shoot MealTime software problems
  • Operate the MealTime program when needed at any school
  • Attend annual workshops and/or webinars as needed.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up/maintain accurate files and records.
  • Prepares a variety of reports for the school district
  • Reacts to change productively and handles other tasks as assigned 
  • Exhibits confidentiality, initiative, creativity, and enthusiasm in performing job functions; models positive ethical behavior and sets a good example for students and staff 
  • Ensures all activities conform to district guidelines
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by Food Service Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School graduate
  • Current Health Food Card
  • Knows and adheres to school policies and procedures
  • Proficient in business English, usage, punctuation, spelling, arithmetic, and filing
  • Demonstrate math and accounting skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and general office machines
  • Ability to work with confidential records
  • Good communication skills
  • Work independently with attention to detail

     

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Work Year: 2024-2025 school year; continuing position

*Hours: * 3.5 hours per day -- 180 days per year -- 9:00 a.m. -- 12:30 p.m.; Monday - Friday

*Starting Date: * As Soon As Possible

Salary: $26.27 - $33.25 per hour, dependent upon school district office personnel experience

Benefits: This position qualifies for healthcare benefits (medical insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance), retirement benefits, up to 12 days of sick leave, and up to three (3) days of personal leave per school year.  (Days of sick leave and personal leave are prorated based on employee start date.)
