Landscape Laborer - 10 fulltime, temporary, peak load (H-2B) jobs available 10/01/2024-11/29/2024

Employer: Armington Nursery dba Wayside Contractors, 124 State Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502.

Duties: Move soil, equipment, wheelbarrows, tillers, and materials; dig holes for plants, trees and drainage swails, install landscape materials, rake, sweep, water, prune, mulch, weed, clean up, mowing, weed eat. Must be able to lift 85 pounds. Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions from 25-95 degrees F, including rain, sleet, snow and wind.

Daily transportation will be provided from a central location to and from worksites in the following counties: Wayne, Livingston, Genesee, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Yates, and Cayuga.

No education or experience required. Wiling to accept a trainee. Employer will provide on-the-job training.

Work hours: Mon-Fri; schedule varies, end times vary, some Saturdays may be required. 7am-4pm, 40 hours/week at $18.49/hour. OT hours vary, at $27.74/hour. Bonus/raise at employer discretion.

A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Workers will be paid weekly on Thursday. All deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law will be made.

Employer facilitates voluntary housing arrangements upon worker request with corresponding payroll deduction, $70/week for rent and utilities.

Employer may make payroll deductions at employee request (must comply with NYS Misc. Wage Order).

Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Employer will provide company-specific uniforms at no cost to worker (not mandatory to wear).

H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).

If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for initial transportation and subsistence costs from the place of recruitment to the place of employment for those traveling from such a distance they are not reasonably able to return to their residence each day. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer.

The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88/day during travel to a maximum of $59/day with receipts.
