JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE: Under the direction of the Manager, Warehouse, the Shipper/Receiver ensures the accurate and timely shipping, receiving, storage, delivery and inventory control of all items in the warehouse, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Operates basic and advanced warehouse vehicles (i.e., electric pallet jack, forklift and/or turret truck).

· Pull/pick customer orders and prepare for shipping according to procedures. Verify the product against packing slips. Pack product according to procedures to minimize damage. Prepare customer specific packaging as required. Notify carriers for pick-up when needed. Load trucks as required.

· Follows customer specific guidelines for packing, labeling, & routing.

· Repacks, labels, barcodes, and processes RFID as dictated by customer requirements.

· Process VMI advanced shipping notice in software as needed.

· Maintains VMI vending labeling formats, databases, and spreadsheets.

· Ship products via UPS and FedEx manifests as appropriate.

· Route packing slips according to procedures. Prepare Bills of Lading as needed.

· Processes shipping feedback in ERP system.

· Receive incoming products according to procedures, unloading trucks as needed. Verify and inspect shipment to paperwork, ensuring correct items and quantity, and checking for damage.

· Receive purchase orders into ERP system.

· Verifies put-away part number and quantity at end of receiving. Denotes location.

· Notifies vendors of shipping discrepancies.

· Works with accounting to rectify system and physical inventory based on vendor discrepancies.

· Processes vendor returns, receives PORMs, scans paperwork to accounting department.

· Obtain number and description of new stock items from receiving report. Label and place on the appropriate shelf area or in carousel. Update the ERP system with stock location.

· Proactively reslots inventory based on physical size or changes in frequency.

· Receive returns and repairs, log into database, and process according to procedures.

· Performs and records daily, monthly and yearly cycle counts according to policy and procedure.

· Assists will-call and counter sale customers as needed.

· Provide items from inventory, such as paper, lunchroom supplies, and drinking water to facility areas in a timely manner. Place literature in or near literature room and opens boxes.

· Prepare mail deliveries to other locations daily. Pick up mail and deliver mail to the post office according to schedule. Operate company or personal vehicle to make occasional deliveries.

· Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies, notifying supervisor for reorders.

· Close the warehouse at the end of the day, to include turning off all lights in the warehouse and cafeteria, turning off all assigned business machines, closing shades in the cafeteria, turning off the coffee maker, and setting the alarm system.

· Perform a variety of warehouse support/maintenance activities, to include snow shoveling, emptying garbage, sweeping floors, filling supplies, etc.

· Complete special projects as assigned.

· Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.

· Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.

· Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and six to twelve months of related experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend documents such as shipping and receiving paperwork, BOMs, packing slips, and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare shipping paperwork, packing slips, labels, and reports. Ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Requires the ability to obtain a forklift operator’s certificate and a valid driver’s license.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Requires the ability to operate lift equipment, company vehicle, small hand tools, carts, staplers, banders, box cutters, tape guns, and wrapping materials. Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard business machines, such as a computer and the job related software, a keyboard, calculator, telephone, FAX, photocopier, etc.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Telework

Compensation is $18.50 an hour + $1500 bonus paid after 6 months.

The salary represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
