3 full time temporary Laundry and Dry Cleaning Worker positions.

Position form 4/1/2025 - 10/31/2025.

Location:  7288 Market Street, Mackinac Island, MI 49757

40+ hrs/wk

Duties:  Responsible for the upkeep and functioning of the laundry department. Operates washing machines, dryers', irons and pressing machines.  Collects, sorts, washes, dries, presses, and folds all linens and other textile items from the Inn and Restaurant.  Formulates washing formula for stained loads.  Ensures that clean linens are up to standards before placing into inventory.  Conducts monthly inventory and ensures proper linen levels are maintained in the laundry storage area.  Works closely with the housekeeping staff to determine the property level of linens kept on the guest's floor and in the Restaurant.  Responsible for the cleanliness and neatness of the laundry area and equipment at all times.  Will train.

Work hours: 9:00AM - 5:00PM.  Employee will work 5-6 days/wk but days of the work week will vary weekly.

Rate of pay : $14.99/hr - $18.50/hr.  Possible overtime up to 20 hours/wk (overtime rates between $22.49/hr - $27.75 depending upon hourly wage)

Wage paid will be within range shown based upon performance, at employer's discretion.

Bonuses paid at discretion of employer based upon performance.

Daily transportation to work site not provided.

Optional housing and board available at a cost of $85.00/wk for housing and $50.00/wk for meals.  If employee opts for housing or meals , cost shall be deducted from paychecks.  Employer will make any other deductions required by law.

Employer will use a single work week as its standard for computing wages due. 

Employer will reimburse worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees incurred for position, but not for those incurred for the benefit of employee (i.e. passport fees)

Daily subsistence will be reimbursed at a rate of $15.88/day during travel to a maximum of $59.00/daywith proof of receipts in accordance with 20 CFR 655.20(j)(1)(ii).  If worker completed 50% of the period of need, employer will reimburse worker for initial inbound transportation costs and subsistence.  Upon completion of the period of need, or if employee is dismissed early, employer will pay for worker's reasonable costs and subsistence of outbound, return, transportation back to where employee came from, unless employee does not return.  The amount of transportation reimbursed will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances travelled.

Employer will provide workers, without charge or deposit, any tools, supplies and equipment required to perform the duties assigned in accordance with 20 CFR 655.20(k)

Employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12 week period to the total employment period.
