Job Summary

Responsible for assembling shelves and racks using power tools with accuracy. Installs shelves and racks into customer vehicles without damaging the vehicle.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

Assemble shelving and components per work order using hand tools and instructions in various formats.

Work with team to install completed components, work boxes, or ladder racks on customer owned fleet vehicles.

Ensure all builds and installs are done with care to avoid costly damages to customer owned equipment.

Provide quality customer service and quality finished products.

Work with a team to organize component products in the warehouse.

Keep the installation bay and workspace clean.

Work with Management and Sales team to execute each job correctly or resolve any issues that arise.

Nature and Scope

  • Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.

  • Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

  • None.

Work Environment

  • Usually located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort, such as dust, fumes, or odors.

  • Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location and/or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move/lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience of install/build, carpentry, or related experience.

  • Exercises good judgment and decision making.

  • Excellent building skills using hand tools and written directions.
