Job Title: English Language Learning Teacher [Open positions: 1 teacher needed [Job Time Type: Part-Time, 2 Hours per week, 1 night per week (TBD: Mon., Wed., or Thurs.) [Pay: $25/hr. for classroom time and prep time. [Job Description: The Lake Area Improvement Corporation (LAIC) is a 501(c)(3) organization seeking a part-time teacher to facilitate our English Language Learning classes.

• Fluent, Native or Bilingual Proficiency in English
• Limited working proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
• Associates Degree in teaching preferred, but not required
• Minimum of 6 months teaching experience is preferred
• Computer skills, Word, Excel, email, familiarity with Google Drive, and using the internet
• A computer can be provided for class use.

• All the students are adults (many with a spouse and/or children).
• Be positive, patient and encouraging with students.
• Provide a comfortable learning environment where students are excited to return to class.
• Use a variety of ways to teach (white board, games, songs, dictation, interaction with each other and repetition). Curriculum is available and will need to be tailored to students various experience/usage levels.
• You will have a class volunteer or two, when available.
