JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Director of Medical Education Admissions directs all admissions efforts for medical students; interprets and applies national admissions regulations; develops and implements operational policies and procedures; develops goals and objectives for the Admissions Office; counsels and advises prospective and current students, as well as unsuccessful candidates; prepares and provides oversight of budgets and resources for all admissions activities and student recruitment efforts; develops, implements, and oversees communication and marketing tools; utilizes web-based student recruitment tools and reports; oversees the collection and analysis of medical school admission statistics; hires, trains, and supervises office staff and students; serves as liaison to the stakeholders within UW School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH), the University, the state, region, and nation; serves as the representative of UWSMPH to the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC); stays abreast of and is intimately familiar with AAMC rules and regulations as well as legal considerations regarding medical school admissions. The Director reports to the Associate Dean for Admissions and directly supervises the admissions staff. Responsibilities: Directs strategy and execution of programs and procedures involved in the recruitment, evaluation, and selection of students seeking entrance to the assigned unit in support of achieving institutional, enrollment-related strategic goals. 15% Directs unit admissions strategic planning initiatives and establishes recruitment and enrollment goals 20% Develops unit admissions operating policies and procedures to comply with regulations, institutional policies, and unit objectives 5% Develops the unit admissions budget 15% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees 25% Serves as the school or college liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups providing admission information and representing the admissions...
