JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: This position provides program coordination and administrative support to the Outreach programs of the Wisconsin Alzheimer\'s Disease Research Center (ADRC) Clinical Trials Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for the organization of team meetings, communication with current participants and potential participants via in-person programs, virtual meetings and educational sessions and through direct mailings and flyers. The candidate will also help to facilitate and support center programs and events, including appreciation events as well as identifying and engaging with community clinics and service organizations (such as churches, neighborhood centers, meal sites, parish nurses, etc.) in Dane County, throughout Wisconsin and in surrounding states. The candidate will have established workspace on campus but it is anticipated that significant time will be spent engaging with communities. The candidate will work with the Principal Investigator, study clinicians, study coordinators and students who support clinical trial research. The Wisconsin ADRC Clinical Trials Program enrolls participants with and without memory problems into studies testing new medicines to treat and prevent Alzheimer\'s disease. This position is part of a national NIH-funded Alzheimer\'s Clinical Trials Consortium (ACTC) allowing for broad networking and professional development. We have a commitment to ensure recruitment of individuals from communities historically under-represented in research. A quarter of our research participants come from two under-represented groups: African Americans and Indigenous Americans, and many participants are elders. In this new position, the community outreach coordinator will serve as a research advocate to empower and encourage persons from underrepresented communities to engage in research. In addition, the community outreach coordinator will work closely with ADRC researchers to ensure that research study visits and processes are culturally sensitive.
