JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Assistant Technical Director works closely with the Technical Director and collaborates with a variety of stakeholders, ensemble conductors, music faculty, students, staff, guest artists, and student technicians, to produce live and recorded concerts in the Mead Witter School of Music. The position primarily oversees the audio elements of concerts and events, but also supports other technical areas as needed. Duties include: -Providing technical support for School of Music events, specifically in audio, lighting, video, and other production-related area. Assist in troubleshooting systems. -Leading the training of student hourly audio specialists. -Coordinating with Technical Director to plan production support of School of Music events. -Managing storage and inventory of audio recording equipment. -Maintaining and enforcing current best practices related to live and recorded music events. -Providing input on audio system design, equipment, and practices. -Maintaining a flexible work schedule to support events in evenings and on weekends. Responsibilities: Manages planning and projects related to complex live and pre-recorded settings for the creation of content. Serves as engineering team leader during production shifts and operates audio and/or video production equipment. 25% Sets up, adjusts, connects, operates, and troubleshoots complex audio and/or video equipment and related peripherals in various environments 30% Digitally records, edits, and finalizes media in a variety of formats according to station standards and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations 10% Schedules logistics and acts as station representative for remote production venues, and ensures required technical specifications will be met during on or off-site productions 10% Tests and maintains equipment, and provides recommendations for alternative hardware and software to improve performance 5% May serve as engineering team lead for on or off-site productions 10% Trains staff on equipment, procedures, and standards 10% Leads system design and installation of broadcast, streaming, and post-production related technology Institutional Statement on...
