JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: UW Clinical Trials Institute is a partnership between the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) and UW Health. It supports clinical research professionals, investigators, and participants to advance discovery and research in the prevention, detection, and treatment of disease to help improve the health of individuals, families, and communities across Wisconsin and beyond. Our exceptionally talented workforce provides care, support, and provide information to clinical trials participants; resources, training, and guidance to research professionals; and opportunities for industry partners to advance groundbreaking medical research. Supporting the mission and vision of the UW CTI, the Clinical Trials Research Portfolio Manager will manage clinical trials study activation across the UW Health and UW-Madison enterprise. Serving as the key contact for sponsors and investigators, they will actively manage the study activation process from intake for new clinical trials. They will correspond with sponsors to obtain trial information and required documents to initiate study activation and ensure that the process proceeds efficiently and will provide problem-solving as needed. They will successfully manage the start-up timelines for new studies including IRB approval, budget development and contract execution according to defined processes and timelines. They will work with clinical trials senior leadership on prioritization and identification of potential study challenges. They will provide assistance in developing study specific recruitment strategies and identifying any barriers to enrollment and will work to successfully hand off study to coordinators when ready for enrollment. The Portfolio Manager will serve as a content expert resource to PIs, study coordinators and other research staff with regard to study-specific protocol requirements and problem solving related to clinical, logistical, financial, and regulatory issues.
