Iconica Electrical Design Engineer Intern in Madison, Wisconsin

Iconica is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer Intern to join our team for summer 2025! In this role, you’ll have the chance to collaborate with Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical Design Engineers, with a primary focus on electrical system design. This includes designing lighting systems, power distribution, fire alarm systems, security and access control, and communication systems for building-related projects. Your experience will include:

  • Performing design calculations and ensuring code compliance.

  • Developing schematic designs, design development, and construction drawings.

  • Preparing detailed specifications.

  • Assisting in coordinating designs with other disciplines and architects.

  • Conducting site inspections and monitoring field construction.

  • Reviewing shop drawings.

    Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Enrollment in an Architectural or Electrical Engineering program.

  • Previous internship experience in design-build or construction (preferred).

  • Familiarity with Revit or BIM360 (preferred).

  • Leadership involvement in extracurricular activities or student organizations.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.

  • High initiative and passion for learning.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
