JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: As an Instrumentation Technologist, this position plays a crucial role in maintaining the Waisman Biomanufacturing (WB) facility and its equipment, ensuring the cGMP manufacture of clinical trial products from a diverse range of projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to support the development and manufacture of novel biotherapeutics, allowing you to cultivate a broad skillset. Responsibilities will include general facility maintenance, troubleshooting facility and equipment issues, and performing equipment installation, validation, calibration, and preventative maintenance activities. Additionally, this position is expected to share technical expertise by training staff on specific equipment used for manufacturing and facility operations. This position will also be responsible for drafting equipment-specific documents, such as Installation/Operational Qualifications (IOQs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Waisman Biomanufacturing (WB) operates as a non-profit organization within the Waisman Center, at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. WB follows a business model that integrates multiple cross-functional teams, including business, manufacturing, operations/facilities, quality assurance and quality control, to support contract-based clients. WB specializes in producing drug therapies for early stage human clinical trials. The Waisman Center is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about human development, developmental disabilities, and neurodegenerative diseases throughout the lifespan. One of 15 centers of its kind in the United States, the Waisman Center encompasses laboratories for biomedical and behavioral research, several scientific research cores, and a clinical biomanufacturing facility for the production of pharmaceuticals for early stage human clinical trials.
