Iconica Field Engineer Intern in Madison, Wisconsin

Iconica is seeking a Field Engineer Intern to join our team for summer 2025! In this role, you’ll work closely with Field Superintendents and Carpenters, gaining hands-on experience in:

  • Coordinating with subcontractors and construction project managers to ensure timely task completion.

  • Constructing, installing, and remodeling structures using wood, plywood, laminates, and steel with both hand and power tools.

  • Learning the proper sequence of activities to assemble a building.

  • Reviewing subcontractor scopes of work, performing shop drawing reviews, and managing punch list and warranty items.

  • Assisting with quality control by helping create punch lists and verifying completed tasks.

  • Supporting client commitments through project schedule management and safety initiatives.

  • Building and strengthening relationships with clients and subcontractors.

    Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Enrollment in a Civil Engineering or Construction Management program.

  • Previous internship experience in design-build or construction (preferred).

  • Leadership roles in extracurricular activities or student organizations.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.

  • High initiative and passion for learning.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
