Millennium- Geospatial Engineer in Madison, Wisconsin

Millennium’s Geospatial specializes in the most advanced and reliable fiber optic cable network designs, fiber-to-the-home designs (FTTH) designs, fiber optic engineering, and a full complement of related support.

As a Design Engineer at Millennium Geospatial, you will play a pivotal role in bringing our groundbreaking ideas to life. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in all areas of engineering, permitting, and quality control for on-time delivery of our clients' projects. Additionally, you will be also responsible for client and project status updates to their project leaders, and personal development to ensure compliance with today's engineering standards for fiber related projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Data Acquisition and Management:

  • Gathering and processing geographic data from various sources (aerial imagery, LiDAR, GPS, etc.)

  • Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and quality.

  • Creating and maintaining geodatabases.

  • GIS Analysis and Modeling:

  • Performing spatial analysis to identify patterns, relationships, and trends in geographic data.

  • Developing and applying geographic models to simulate real-world scenarios.

  • Conducting site suitability analysis and impact assessments.

  • Design and Development:

  • Designing telecom networks in ArcGIS softwares.

  • Creating and managing geographic information-based design deliverables.

  • Outside Plant (OSP) fiber optic design, planning and engineering for new and existing networks..

  • Visualization and Communication:

  • Creating maps, staking sheets, fiber counts, Bill of Materials (BOMs), etc for end client deliverables.

  • Quality Assurance and Quality Control of peers network designs.

What will make you successful:

  • Knowledge and experience with ESRI tools in the Telecommunications industry

  • Leading with genuine curiosity to learn and understand the challenges of prospects and clients

  • Telecommunications Engineering

  • FTTx design, Outside Plant (OSP) design, Telecom GIS deliverable creation (staking sheets, bill of materials, fiber count documentation, permitting, etc.),

  • Knowledge of FTTX architectures

  • Comfort level in working with technology tools: ESRI, ArcGISPro, FieldMaps, ArcGIS Online, CRM

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks.

  • Ability to understand, read and interpret data.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
