JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The UW Population Health Institute seeks an outreach specialist to support maternal health initiatives at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS). This position is based in the Family Health Section, Bureau of Community Health Promotion, Division of Public Health, DHS. This position is under the supervision of the Maternal and Infant Health Unit Supervisor. This position will support the Maternal Mortality Review (MMR) program and the Maternal Health Innovation (MHI) program by operationalizing strategic and communications plans, developing and implementing a process for prioritizing MMR Team (MMRT) recommendations, evaluating the reach and implementation of prioritized recommendations, and coordinating outreach to and collaborating with community and other statewide partners to increase utilization of MMRT and MHI recommendations. This position will also assist with coordinating the work of Wisconsin\'s Maternal Mortality Review Impact Team, which is tasked with amplifying MMRT and MHI recommendations and highlighting action steps. This includes developing a recruitment plan and team charter, as well as developing regular content briefs and supporting documents. Key activities will consist of: - developing and implementing communications and dissemination plans - developing and implementing a process for prioritizing MMRT recommendations - evaluating the reach and implementation of prioritized recommendations (assessing successes, challenges, and impacts) - building relationships with statewide partners - facilitating bidirectional engagements with partners (i.e., listening sessions, forums, co-learning events, etc.) - coordinating and maintaining the work of the MMR Impact Team - supporting work of MMR and MHI programs by elevating MMRT and Maternal Health Task Force findings and data with a prevention lens Responsibilities: Delivers and assists with planning outreach program activities, strengthens partnerships, ensures adherence to policy, and assists with program administration to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community.
