MADISON SCHOOL & COMMUNITY RECREATI MSCR Building Supervisor in MADISON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) is Madison\'s public recreation provider. MSCR offers a wide variety of athletic, recreational, arts and enrichment activities and classes for all ages in an accessible, inclusive setting. Programs include swimming instruction, MSCR on the Move, arts & enrichment classes, youth summer camps, sports camps & clinics, adult & 50+ fitness, adult sport leagues including pickleball, softball and tennis, and a wide variety of outdoor pursuits including paddling sports, pontoon trips, camping, orienteering and challenge courses. As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD), MSCR also provides afterschool enrichment activities, clubs and sports as well as summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools, Allied Learning Center and Meadowood Neighborhood Center. Afterschool clubs and sports include: arts & enrichment, homework/academic clubs, drama, dance, skiing, soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross country and much more! During the school year, MSCR offers Afterschool and Enrichment Programs at 15 MMSD Schools. Many of these sites have been awarded Community Learning Center (CLC) grants through the Federal Government. These programs offer curriculum to help support the students who need extra support in math and/or literacy. Program Description: The purpose of the position is to provide customer service and supervision at MSCR programming facilities. Job Description & Duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Secure, open, and close MSCR Reception Desk Building. Problem solve, provide customer service and support to participants, instructors & staff. Set up requests for tables & chairs per instructor requests. Understand, implement, and communicate MSCR Mission, programming, and policies. Assist in supervising building in the absence of MSCR Supervisor Community Programs. Ensure program and building safety. Handle on-site emergencies and facilitate problem-solving. Provide excellent customer service to participants. Lead site tours. Provide support to MSCR staff and instructors. Communicate regularly with the Supervisor of Community Programs. Contribute positively to the work environment. Utilize ACTIVE registration system to provide program information to participants and instructors. Light cleaning and housekeeping end of the shift. Other duties as assigned. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Must be reliable and dependable, detailed oriented, and a problem solver. Candidates should have reliable transportation. Computer knowledge and proficiency. Excellent customer service skills and be supportive of the MSCR mission. CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required within 90 days of date of hire and we can assist in obtaining those certifications. Preferred Qualifications: Strong organizational skills. Experience working, volunteering in a neighborhood, recreational or community center setting.
