Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Principal-level pre-sales SaaS Cloud Solution Engineer with proven success in messaging, positioning with business value, and demonstrating solutions across ERP and Supply Chain solutions to our enterprise customers.

As an acknowledged authority within Oracle, this Principal Solution Engineer (SE) has a breadth of knowledge and understanding of solutions, leading practices, connected business processes and impact on business value. The SE collaborates with our SaaS Cloud Sales team to design innovative, modern, value driven presentations and demonstrations that compel our customers and prospects to take action.

You will partner with the sales team and other Solution Engineers to help customers evaluate how Oracle Cloud solutions can bring value to their businesses. You will become a trusted advisor, assisting these customers enhance the benefit of their IT investments. As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales activities to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a resource and mentor for less experienced Solution Engineers. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops and delivers outstanding presentations and demonstrations.

The Principal SE’s role is to work with customers to position and demonstrate Oracle solutions that meet the needs of our client companies. The SE will work with a selling team focusing on larger accounts, both Oracle customer and Greenfield prospects, on our team. The SE partners with peer SEs and sales teams and focuses on developing customer presentations and demonstrations. Activities include developing a point of view for the account/opportunity, validating this with account executives, understanding requirements, helping to develop a compelling solution supported by business value, assisting with RFP/Proposal efforts, delivering presentations and demonstrations at various levels up to and including the C-level, as well as other selling events. There are leadership opportunities in leading peer SE teams and developing account strategy.

Responsibilities:

Provide direction and specialist knowledge in applying Oracle cloud solutions and applications to client business challenges.

Facilitate customer solution understanding through meetings, presentations, and demonstrations, and benchmarks, provision of support throughout the sales cycle.

Formulate the strategy, plan, and solution and lead the pre-sales functions supporting activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Develop and deliver outstanding presentations and demonstrations -- excellent communication skills (verbal, written, face-to-face, digital delivery) is a must.

Guide and influence all aspects of a sales process based on your extensive experience, in partnership with your selling team.

Advise internal and external clients on overall solutions and architecture.

Lead large, complex sales opportunities that need creative design, strategy, and solutions.

Act as a resource and mentor for less experienced Solution Engineers and Sales Reps.

Help to develop and deliver productivity enablement for the SE and Sales organizations.

Skills:

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in the area of specialization.

5+ years SaaS Cloud solution provider experienced in a selling capacity (pre-sales preferred)

7+ year’s business experience with relevant application solutions (e.g., solutions such as Oracle Cloud ERP/SCM, EBS, SAP)

Thorough knowledge of supply chain applications and knowledge of competitors.

Demonstrated project management and leadership skills – able to manage work across multiple opportunities at one time.

Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, needs analysis, positioning/messaging, business value and justification, compelling/closing techniques.

Ability to effectively persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication.

Travel as needed, approx. 25-50%

BS or equivalent experience in Accounting/Finance, Engineering or similar degree or advanced degree desirable.

Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $38.85 to $85.67 per hour; from $80,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 65/35 - 80/20.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
