MADISON HUMAN RESOURCES Public Works Laborer in MADISON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Public Works Laborers perform routine entry-level, manual work related to varied public works maintenance activities within the Streets and Parks Divisions. Work includes laboring tasks, equipment operation, the use of hand and power tools for grounds and building maintenance work, the routine maintenance of tools and equipment, and related cleaning and maintenance of Public Works facilities. Work is performed independently or as part of a team and is directed and reviewed by a leadworker or designated supervisor for conformance with established procedures and/or objectives. Hours of work: 40 hours per week. Work will generally be performed eight (8) hours per day between the hours of 4:00 am and 6:00 pm. Start and end times will vary by season. Work location can vary throughout the year. Current recruitment is to fill three (3) vacant positions An eligible list will be created from this recruitment to fill any future vacancies that may occur in this classification in the next six (6) months ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Three (3) months of experience as a City of Madison seasonal laborer and eligible for rehire.
