The Madisonoffice of SmithGroupis looking for aSenior Mission Critical Mechanical Engineerto join our team. Working with us, you will: Perform analysis, design and documentation of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and controls. Perform system assessments and prepare technical reports. Review submittals, RFIs and contractor proposed change orders, and conduct site observations. Coordinate the work of mechanical designers and junior staff assigned to the project. Assist with construction site visits as required for observation, answering contractor questions, or representing the owner in preparing punch lists. Create and develop planning and design concepts for projects. Prepare presentation drawings and otherwise assists in presentations both internally and externally. Mentor and train junior staff. Provide oversight of all aspects of mechanical design and the mechanical disciplines. An ideal candidate has: A bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or equivalent. 7 years of total experience with aminimum of 3-4 years of mission criticalrelated technical design and consulting engineering experience designing HVAC for new and renovated healthcare, research lab, higher education and/or mission critical/data center buildings. PE License and LEED AP preferred. Proficiency with Revit, Trane TRACE 700, Bluebeam, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with three-dimensional CFD modeling and analysis of data center airflow and cooling performance. Experience designing and optimizing common mission critical/data center cooling technologies including air and liquid cooling.
