Description
Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a permanent opportunity with a rapidly growing company. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This role is very integrated as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Magnolia, Texas area, at a company where effort is rewarded.
What you get to do every single day
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
