Job Description:

  • Interprets manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications, and lists to approve or reject units, test setups, or systems for in-process or final assemblies

  • Inspection support includes verification of the build of the following items: CCAs, modules, chassis-level inspection, as well as test readiness activities, and test monitoring

  • Interface with Quality Engineers and Product Line Managers to discuss the suitability of inspected parts/materials

  • Makes recommendations for new nad improved procesdures

  • Often asts as a facilitator and team lead.

    Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for performing advanced/complex hardware inspections, tests and/or audits of purchased parts, units, materials, equipment, panel/module level assemblies and quality control programs to specifications.

  • Inspects and may perform minor rework on defective or malfunctioning units or systems.

  • Ensures raw materials, in-process, and finished products meet company and test standards.

  • Highly skilled and experienced senior support individual contributor.

  • Works autonomously.

  • Acts as a mentor to lower-level peers and provides guidance on tasks.

  • Makes recommendations for process improvements.

  • Works on assignments requiring development of concepts and techniques.

  • Communicates with contacts, typically within and outside the department, on matters that involve explaining complex assignments, solving problems, and initiating process improvements.

    Qualifications:

  • Fully proficient, self-sufficient individual contributor

  • Advanced hardware inspection skills and knowledge

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

  • Experience mentoring and training inspection and quality processes to new and/or junior inspectors, as well as members of engineering / program teams.

  • Experience with RCCAs, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Security Clearance required upon hire : Clearance Not Required

  • Security Clearance required for role : Clearance Not Required

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Certified to IPC-A-600

  • Certified to IPC-A-610

  • Certified to IPC/WHMA-A-620

  • Experience working in an inspection department inspecting mechanical parts.
