Eliot’s Behavioral Health Division provides an integrated and comprehensive network of services to adults with psychiatric disabilities that are evidence based, provide rehabilitation & hope to those in services.
Eliot is currently seeking an enthusiastic Nurse Practitioner to help oversee the ACCS Nursing team. The ideal candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure that recovery services, vocational services & clinical supports are included in the treatment plan developed for each individual served.
Responsibilities:
Act as the psychiatric clinician for individuals served by ACCS teams and Respite services.
Provide and promote services that are culturally responsive, strengths-based, recovery-oriented, and inclusive of patient preferences.
Provide services flexible to individuals’ needs via office sessions, outreach, or community sessions as clinically appropriate.
Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and implement comprehensive psychiatric treatment recommendations, including but not limited to recommendations for psychotropic medications and medications to treat substance use and tobacco use disorders.
Provide comprehensive education regarding presenting conditions and treatment options to support shared decision-making and informed consent.
Monitor therapeutic effectiveness and side effects and conduct appropriate lab monitoring for all prescribed medications.
Provide motivational interviewing and counseling around harm reduction practices to individuals with substance use and tobacco use disorders.
Support engagement with other medical care providers as appropriate. Refer to, consult, and collaborate with other medical/health service providers as appropriate.
Provide basic medical assessment/workup and monitoring (including lab monitoring as necessary), within the scope of practice, for individuals having difficulty participating in routine medical care.
Provide counseling and support around activities/behaviors that support health and wellness.
Qualifications:
Requires Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited university/college and is currently licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing to practice as a licensed Nurse Practitioner and is registered to practice as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Maintains a valid registration(s) to issue written oral prescriptions or medication orders for controlled substances from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the United States Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration.
Maintains current malpractice/liability insurance.
Experience in acute psychiatric care required.
Meets third party and Department of Public Health clinic regulations for reimbursable.
Competent in the use of computers and related software applications.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm/8am-4pm
