POSITION: Integrated Co-Teacher

LOCATION: Chateaugay Central School

DESCRIPTION: Integrated co-teachers work in partnership with one or more teachers. Collaboration for effective communication between co-teachers is essential. The special education teacher brings expertise in disabilities and accommodations. They plan appropriate interventions for students with disabilities. While the general education teacher is the subject area expert, the special education teacher focuses on supporting disabled students within the classroom. Both co-teachers work collaboratively to create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere. Individualizing instruction based on students needs and interests is a key skill for integrated co-teachers. Integrated co-teaching is all about teamwork, flexibility, and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive.

QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certification in Special Education Knowledge of NYS Learning and NYSAA Knowledge of Curriculum and effective instructional strategies Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the team

STARTING DATE: September 3, 2024

SALARY: $53,032 (2024-25 Base Salary) - Consideration for additional salary may be granted based upon education and teaching experience
