Amazon BIE Manager, Ring Alarm and Smart Lighting in Malvern, Pennsylvania

Description

Are you interested in diving deep into data and developing the metrics model that drives continuous improvement for Ring Alarm and Smart Lighting systems? Do you have solid problem-solving skills, make metrics-driven decisions and have a desire to create the infrastructure needed for intuitive data access to drive engineering insight, decisions and actions?

We are looking for an experienced and technically skilled individual to lead a team of Business Intelligence and Data Engineers. The ideal candidate will be an analytical, results-oriented and customer-focused engineering leader who will play a key role in ensuring that engineering and product teams have the information and insight they need about Ring Alarm and Smart Lighting features and products.

Key job responsibilities

• Defining, developing and maintaining critical engineering and operational metrics reviewed on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis.

• Identifying data needs and driving data quality improvement projects.

• Mentor and Develop Talent: Assist in the career development of others, mentoring employees and teams on advanced technical issues and career growth.

• Raise the Quality Bar: Provide guidance and mentoring to ensure that right technology choices are being made. Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.

• Define the long-term strategy for the team

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience

  • 3+ years of delivering results managing a business intelligence or analytics team, including employee development and performance management experience

  • Experience with SQL

  • Experience with ETL

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab or other statistical/machine learning software

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of working with very large data warehousing environment experience

  • 10+ years of data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
