Ethicon, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Kitroom Operator. This position will be based at the San Lorenzo facility for approximately 3 months following the start date. Subsequently, the position will be based at the Manatí facility. Ethicon is expanding its manufacturing operations to Manatí, Puerto Rico. Resources hired will work in San Lorenzo temporarily until the Manatí Manufacturing Facility is operational.

Following the goals, objectives, and vision of Ethicon MedTech, primary responsibility is performing one or more of the following hands-on operations: responsible for the proper maintenance of the Manufacturing Line rhythm through the replenishment of Kanban and the delivery of Material Kits to production operators.

Responsibilities:

  • Replenishment of the Kanban and proper monitoring of Kanban levels for kitroom area.

  • Replenishment for material from the warehouse as required, including required requisitions in applicable system for dispatch.

  • Monitor the kitroom line performance and work operations.

  • Ensure the maintenance of the manufacturing line rhythm.

  • Ensure that production operators have enough material kits to perform their assigned duties.

  • Immediate communication to Facilitator or Materials Management of kitroom flow issues.

  • Order batches and creates requisitions as required.

  • Perform cycle counts along with cycle counter to ensure inventory is accurate as needed.

  • Perform work tasks and operations in compliance with all environmental rules and regulations and encourage co-workers.

  • Always observe all company safety norms and regulations and notify any violation or deviation to his/her safety administrator.

  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.

  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, Compliance Regulations, Local and Company regulations, policies, programs, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.

  • Experience working within Warehouse or Manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Ability to follow complex written procedures carefully and accurately is required.

  • Ability to assemble, disassemble, operate, and understand complex equipment or processes per procedures is required.

  • Computer skills – SAP System knowledge preferred.

  • Able to speak, write and understand procedures and instructions in Spanish and English is required.

  • Able to lift an approximate weight of 10 to 40 lbs from the ground is required.

  • Availability to work overtime, various work schedules, which may include 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts and/or 12-hour daily shifts, including weekends and holidays is required.

  • This role is classified as Safety Sensitive due to the risk exposure associated with mechanical intervention work. To the extent permitted by applicable law, periodic, unannounced urine drug testing may be required up to three times a year as a condition for employees in positions identified as “safety sensitive” to continue working.

  • Position will initially be based in San Lorenzo until the Manatí Facility is operational and, as a result, the incumbent is transferred. During the period that the incumbent reports to the San Lorenzo facility, this facility will be considered the employee’s work center. Once transferred to the Manatí facility, the incumbent’s work center will be changed to the Manatí site.

  • Availability to travel up to 10%.
