Job Title: Accounting Manager

Job Description

The Accounting Manager position is responsible for overseeing the financial operations related to the sales and distribution of beer products. Their role involves managing accounts, maintaining financial records, and ensuring the company’s finances align with industry regulations. The position is responsible for leading and managing the financial activities and reporting processes. You will ensure compliance with both corporate policies and governmental regulations, maintain accurate financial records, and support operational success by providing financial insights.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger

  • Monitor cash flow, and ensure timely billing, collections, and payments

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal alcohol regulations and tax laws, including excise taxes

  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business decision-making

  • Coordinate audits and work closely with external auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting

  • Collaborate with management to optimize financial processes and cost controls

  • Implement and maintain financial controls to safeguard company assets

  • Manage inventory accounting, including monitoring stock levels and cost analysis

  • Support the company in managing vendor relationships, pricing, and procurement strategies

  • Supervise and manage accounting staff

  • Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consult with Human Resources as appropriate

  • Ability to analyze and assess training and development needs

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to influence and develop business relationships

  • Ability to work independently

  • Proficiency in English and basic math skills

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint applications

  • Knowledge of accounting software

  • BA in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required

  • Minimum 3 years of experience required

Work Environment The accounting team is in an office setting. On-site 5 days/week, Mon-Fri 9am-5pm.
