GENERAL FUNCTION

The Director of Architecture & Engineering Coordination will be responsible in leading the internal Architecture and Engineering and managing exterior A/E Consultants to ensure compliance and accuracy of deliverables and spearheading problem-solving solutions to the Company standards. Thrives on solving complex problems, are proactive in recognizing potential efficiencies, and are at the table when important technical decisions need to be made. Strong analytical and technical knowledge will be critical in success.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct management and mentorship of Architects, Engineers and Coordinators, fostering collaborative environment to enhance creative problem-solving and productivity.
  • Oversee development and implementation of architectural designs for retail and office projects ensuring they meet approved specifications, budget constraints and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of internal Architecture and Engineering team, ensuring consistency in project deliverables, including, prototype drawings, distribution of architectural and engineering standards, and creation of drawings, calculations, engineering work, documents and specifications.
  • Develop/implement the application of architecture and engineering-related standards, practices and policies.
  • Manage creation of construction document sets for a wide array of architectural planning initiatives relative to new, remodel and relocation retail projects, corporate developments, and special projects.
  • Manage consultant relationships including presenting proposals/forecasts, negotiation contracts and pricing, providing support with purchase orders, and sharing projects
  • Collaborate with Store Development leadership team to achieve agreed-upon commitments and align the company's core goals and operating systems.
  • Identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality and timing within Architecture and Engineering.
  • Cultivate and nurture professional relationships with strategic partners and vendors, including internal business clients and external vendors, using transparent and open communication of business goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate a passion for EL values of imagination/innovation, simplicity/speed, entrepreneurship/forward-thinking.
  • Determine solutions for technical challenges in design and construction.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, achieve strategic, solutions to complex issues, and communicate outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Drive post mortem on projects for improvement opportunities on future projects.
  • Develop technically and operationally feasible long-term strategies and plans
  • Identify, explore and recommend emerging technologies and practices to save time and reduce cost.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree, focus Architecture, Engineering, or related
  • 8+ years of Retail/Commercial Architecture/Engineering Design experience
  • Direct management of architectural and engineering documents in major US, Canadian cities
  • Excellent leadership and management, computer, and communications skills
  • Superior organization and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Autocad, Revit, Bim, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Luxury retail A/E design/engineering experience
  • Previous A/E design/construction experience with major retail brands

Pay Range: 136,622.05-209,092.00

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package. Benefits may include health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and various employee discounts.

Minimum Salary: 136622.05 Maximum Salary: 209092.00 Salary Unit: Yearly
