Description POSITION SUMMARY: The IT/Low-Voltage Specialist is a dual-role professional responsible for both IT and low-voltage electrical systems. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems and IT infrastructure. This includes security systems, network cabling, telecommunication systems, and other related technologies as well as managing and supporting the IT infrastructure of the organization. The IT/Low-Voltage Specialist will ensure the streamlined operation of IT functions in alignment with business objectives and provide comprehensive support for low voltage systems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Low Voltage Responsibilities: Install and configure low voltage systems including security cameras, access control systems, audio-visual equipment and network cabling. Perform project layout and building automation systems installation. Perform regular maintenance on low voltage systems to ensure optimal performance. Diagnose and repair faults in wiring, network systems, and hardware components Provide technical support to users experiencing issues with low voltage systems Recommend and implement upgrades to improve system performance and security Stay updated with the latest technology trends and advancements in low voltage and IT fields Maintain detailed records of installations, maintenance activities, monitoring, and repairs. Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate installation and maintenance. Establish, maintain and communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions, building relationships Provide excellent verbal and written communication with clients and team members. Plan, coordinate, and solve problems effectively. Work independently or as part of a team with impeccable attention to detail. IT Responsibilities: Manage deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems including telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals. Knowledge in basic network troubleshooting. Maintain computer networks and systems including software, database, switches, routers, and other physical hardware. Troubleshoot hardware and software related issues on end users, computers, cell phones, and tablets. Assist in onboarding operations by providing desktop, laptop, tablet, and cell phone support to employees, including setup, configuration, and training. Enroll and manage cellphones and tablets and provide support Troubleshoot copier and scanner related issues. Respond to and manage helpdesk tickets; document how issues were fixed Manage user accounts and access permissions across all systems Ensure all IT equipment is properly inventoried and maintained Assist in planning IT projects and implementing newfound solutions Coordinate with external vendors and service providers as needed (Adobe, Bluebeam, Nitro, Quickbase, Dell, etc.) Adhere to office-based work requirements; this is not a hybrid or work-from-home position. JOB SPECIFICATION: Education/Experience/ Requirements: * High school diploma or GED certificate required; college degree or equivalent experience preferred. * Preferred 3 years of experience in the field of low voltage systems and IT/Networking. * Low Volt Work: Registered Unlicensed Power Limited Technician State of MN License * Valid driver's license and clean driving record. * This position may require occasional after-hours work and on-call availability * Potential for occasional travel to remote offices or other company locations Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Proficiency in installing and configuring low voltage systems such as security cameras, access control, AV systems, network cabling, and building automation systems. * Strong understanding of network infrastructure including but not limited to LAN/WAN, routers, switches * Familiarity with relevant tools and diagnostic equipment and programs; familiarity with cloud ervices such as but not limited to AWS, Azure, and Office 365 * Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with low voltage and IT systems. * Knowledge of remote access applications, Windows operating systems, computer hardware, and peripherals. * Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Office suite. * Knowledge of software development, database systems, and QuickBase is preferred. * Ability to understand and address front-end user requirements. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving abilities. * Ability to work alone or as part of a team with a high attention to detail. * Ability to represent the Company in a professional manner, promoting the organization in a positive and productive discipline which will serve as an example to others. * Other critical skills include problem identification/resolution, multi-tasking, follow-through skills to bring tasks to closure, priority setting, and having a sense of urgency in accomplishing tasks in a timely manner.
