Xcel Energy Temporary Helper Material Handler - Mankato in Mankato, Minnesota

We anticipate the need for one Temporary Helper at our Mankato Service Center in Mankato, MN. The starting rate of pay for this position is $26.78 hourly. This position will be posted for 10 working days from June 27, 2024 to July 11, 2024.

Summary

This position is responsible for receiving activities, which include the unloading of carrier trucks and receipt of materials both (stock & non-stock), put away activities, put stock materials away in assigned & random locations, order filling, physically fill material orders for field, physically stage and track materials in data base, load & unload material delivery trucks and process necessary required shipping paperwork, process credits of materials returned from field, maintain clean work areas as necessary. Utilize various computer applications and software. This position requires the safe operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment. A high awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules is required at all times.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Able to get forklift certification within 30 days of hire. Prior forklift experience preferred.

  • Computer skills required

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, work inside and outside in dusty environments and be in good physical condition

  • Able to work at heights of up to 30 feet as necessary

  • Will be required to work extended hours and respond to after hour emergencies as necessary

  • Must live within 20 miles from Service Center

  • Must have CDL or be able to obtain CDL within 6 months
