A480 - 3B The Project Manager II will utilize technical project management skills, strategic and business management understanding, leadership skills and pharmaceutical knowledge, utilizing/enhancing department best practices and effectively leading project teams to deliver their expected project results. Essential Duties: Manage project execution by initiating teams and ensuring plans are met by continuous evaluation of scope, schedule, budget, and risk management. Estimate and assess effort levels of activities and resource requirements by using standard estimating tools and techniques working with appropriate team members to ensure project success. Articulate the goal or vision and motivate or influence team to achieve goal. Challenge team to be more efficient and effective on function specific issues to drive project success. Create a team environment that empowers individual contribution, teamwork and decision-making that focuses on effective team execution. Lead team through collaboration and participation efforts progressing the project. Utilizeanalytical skills, decision making capabilities, and creative problem solving to find solutions to complex problems. Execute and control project activities, including scope, schedule, budget and risk associated with each project and report performance. Ensure team understanding of constraints across project and portfolio and recommend alternatives if required. Lead project/program meetings and establish communication plans for timely information distribution to team members and appropriate management. Communicate with leadership in one-on-one setting. Identify and manage project stakeholders, communicatingproject information appropriate to each level of the organization. Follow best practices to prepare standard status reports, participating in departmental and customer stakeholder project status update meetings as appropriate. Manage new corporate development activities or other enterprise initiatives, performing tasks as required to support the department, portfolio or corporate objectives. Prepare project integrated development plans or project charters identifying schedule, budget and scope using project management best practices ensuring plans are realistic and measurable. Utilize clear concise communication on project development and business goals ensuring a holistic project representation. Develop a comprehensive knowledge base in pharmaceutical development, product lifecycleand project management best practices to build business processes that support new product development and strategic goals. Build strong peer relationships with resource managers and business partners in an effort to effectively progress new product development and on-market product support initiatives. Perform training in leadership, team skills, project management discipline and project management software. Conduct project/program reviews at significant milestones or gates to evaluate progress compared to baseline.Continue to measure and monitor performance, determine if variances warrant corrective action. Coach and support portfolio activities by sharing project management knowledge, assisting or mentoring team members and project leaders in project management process and techniques. Ensure work is completedper plan, gain final acceptance of project close, update lessons learned and incorporate into corporate knowledge management. Complete final close out documentation and performance report. Requirements: Abachelor's degree is required, preferably in a relevant scientific discipline. 6+ years of experience leading teams in development, operations, manufacturing in the Pharma, Med Device or Biotech industry is required. PMP Certification is strongly preferred. Other Skills and Abilities: Proven leadership qualities and an ability to effectively interact cross-functionally. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to think quickly and assimilate informat on to make sound business decisions. Computer skills in Word, Excel, MS Project, SharePoint.
