job summary:

A Project Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Mapleton, IL area. This role involves managing projects in a foundry, focusing on asset procurement, demolition, installation, sand reclamation, and ensuring project feasibility through collaboration, leadership, and technical expertise.

salary: $43.88 - 61.43 per hour

work hours: 8am to 4pm

education: Bachelors

responsibilities:

  • Manage asset/structure demolition and installation.

  • Plan and communicate effectively with all parties involved in the project.

  • Analyze project impacts and communicate promptly.

  • Review the cost, timing, reliability, and safety of design models for feasibility.

  • Approve final design implementation plans.

  • Direct and manage suppliers' staff at project sites.

  • Manage budgeting and purchasing related to these projects.

  • Work with internal/external suppliers to implement facility-wide projects efficiently.

Skills:

  • strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.

  • Knowledge of engine block casting and machining processes.

  • Project management, negotiation, and analytical thinking.

  • Experience in should-cost modeling, supply chain planning, and supplier audits.

  • Proficiency in Windows Office 365 (Excel, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Experience with process improvement, layouts, flow, PPAP, and advanced manufacturing processes.

  • Familiarity with company policies and procedures, especially those impacting suppliers.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial.

  • Minimum of 10 years of foundry experience in operations and manufacturing.

  • At least 10 years of project management and leadership experience.

  • 10 years of sand reclamation project experience.
