Here, you will make an impact by:Lead the Division Strategic Planning process and strategy program management officeWork with the Division President, Global Business Unit, Technical, Value Stream and Area Division leaders to align business objectives to long-term regional and global strategies. In alignment with division M&A strategy, identify global candidate companies for investigation and prioritization of opportunities.Complete investigations of companies and prepare summaries for management reviewMonitor, assess and report on competitive activities and performanceIdentify opportunities to segment division performance (e.g. verticals and geographies) and track results with the segmentation. Link results in segments to key performance indicators to assist in measuring division results and predicting future performance.Provide advice and counsel for decision-making and operational/strategic planning to support overall growth strategyIdentify strategies based on thorough understanding of operating unit policies and practices and category, account and industry dynamicsNegotiate and counsel on an expert level, justify controversial positions and demonstrate advanced persuasion skills. Interactions will involve convincing others to cooperate, grant approval, and take of a certain kind.Provide supervision to assigned and unassigned employees through leadership, coaching, training and development, allocating work assignments and review of progress in achieving objectives.Assist in overall management and leadership of the division and serve as a catalyst for engagement in key division activities.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institutionTen (10) or more years of relevant experience including marketing, business development, strategic planning and/or finance in a private, public, government or military environmentEffective communication and influencing skills, including ability to create and deliver professional presentationsAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:MBAor Degree in Business, Marketing, or related disciplineComprehensive knowledge of 3Ms global strategy, business areas, structure and organization, as well as the external market (competitors, trends, etc.)Knowledge and experience in Personal Safety, Industrial or Health Care businessKnowledge and experience with the theories and practices of one or more disciplines such as market research, new product development, M&AStrategy and planning experience demonstrating the ability to synthesize industry, customer and product information into a comprehensive and cohesive story.Travel: May include up to 25%Relocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, te hnologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.U.S. Export Control laws and U.S. Government Department of Defense contracts and sub-contracts impose certain restrictions on companies and their ability to share export-controlled and other technology and services with certain "non-U.S. persons" (persons who are not U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents of the U.S., refugees, "Temporary Residents" (granted Amnesty or Special Agricultural Worker provisions), or persons granted asylum (but excluding persons in nonimmigrant status such as H-1B, L-1, F-1, etc.) or non-U.S. citizens.To comply with these laws, and in conjunction with the review of candidates for those positions within 3M that may present access to export controlled technical data, 3M must assess employees' U.S. person status, as well as citizenship(s).The questions asked in this application are intended to assess this and will be used for evaluation purposes only.
