Summary This HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICIAN TRAINING LEADER position, is located in the ANG Regional Equipment Operator Training School (REOTS) or at a Regional Training Site (RTS). and is part of the CA 163 ATKW. Responsibilities THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, INDEFINITE POSITION NOT TO EXCEED 1 YEAR Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. The primary purpose of the HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICIAN TRAINING LEADER, WL-2810-10, is to instruct and lead Air Force Civil Engineering personnel in the operation of electrical systems and to perform duties associated with the operation of electrical systems and their components. Requirements Conditions of Employment CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Military technicians must be assigned to a military position in the same unit which they are employed or, in a unit that is supported by the employing activity. Military technicians must hold the military grade specified for the position. Priority Areas(s) of Consideration: Priority consideration is first given to the areas below. AREA I= Current California National Guard employees who are serving on a Permanent/Indefinite/Temporary appointment. AREA II= Current California National Guard members. AREA III= Current military members of the Air Force/Army National Guard, Air Force/Army Reserve or Air Force/Army Active Duty. (Applicants who are currently in other Air/Army branches and NOT currently a member of the California National Guard (CNG) must become a member of a compatible unit of assignment within the Air Force CNG commensurate with the military grade listed in this announcement prior to federal assignment). Military Grades: E-1 through E-7 Recruitment/Relocation Recruitment/Relocation Incentive MAY BE authorized, subject to funding and approval. PCS Relocation Costs IS NOT authorized based on determination that Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is not in the Government best interest. Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance. Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards. Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Security Clearance: at a minimum a National Agency Check is required. Qualifications General Experience: Must possess experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, procedures, materials, and safety standards governing work on electrical systems. HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICIAN TRAINING LEADER, WL-2810-10: Must have 24 months experience or training leading workers in performing trades and labor training assignments with knowledge of methods and techniques of instruction, electrical theory; Experience in the ability to read and comprehend circuit diagrams and schematic; Experience in installing, maintaining, repairing, and modifying high-voltage electrical systems and major substation components of electrical systems; Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedy when complex relationships exist among different electrical system circuits requiring knowledge of all electrical units and systems; Experience in making high-voltage electrical repairs that required the use of precision measuring equipment and common hand tools.
