Customs and Border Protection Audiovisual Production Specialist in Marfa, Texas

Summary Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Big Bend Sector, Law Enforcement Operational Programs Division, Strategic Communications, located in Marfa, TX. Responsibilities This position is located within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of U.S Border Patrol, Law Enforcement Operational Programs Division. Join in supporting agency informational and messaging media production projects and program oversight for all facets of the media production projects to include audio, video, photography, graphic design, and the management and operation of required equipment essential in accomplishing the messaging and production projects for the sector. This position starts at a salary of $86,962.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $113,047.00 (GS-12, Step 10). In this Audio-Visual Production Specialist position, you will serve as a producer, director, script writer and production assistant in support of agency informational and message media production projects. You are responsible for oversight of the following program objectives: Serving as an authoritative technical advisor and resource to Audio Visual Production Specialists in medium sectors. Providing assistance in script preparation, creating electronic graphics to enhance presentation, edit videotapes for roll in and review, evaluate and edit finished programs. Creating and maintaining existing database of video imagery used for distribution as B-Roll to media outlets. Providing technical assistance and/or training to staff in a large sector in using the audio/visual equipment and assisting in social media production related tasks and performing duties as assigned by supervisors. Qualifications Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Consulting with clients on general concepts, objectives, and target audiences of projects. Directing video productions by designing sets and lighting, conceiving visuals, selecting music and sound effects. Selecting and directing cameras and movement during taping and editing.
