Job Description:

The University of Florida Veterinary Hospitals is hiring for our hospital at the World Equestrian Center (WEC), a high profile 300-acre equine facility in Ocala, 30 minutes south of Gainesville. UF Veterinary Hospitals at WEC provides Small Animal primary care and urgent care services and Equine sports medicine, rehabilitation, and diagnostic imaging services.

A Small Animal Veterinary Assistant at the UFVH at WEC, assist with patient care, procedures, stocking, administrative support, and general cleaning and maintenance of the hospital and equipment. An individual in this position must possess basic knowledge of veterinary medicine and enjoy learning new things.

Available Shifts:

Day shifts available. May require working holidays and weekends.

This position is considered essential personnel and requires a post-offer health assessment.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Expected Salary:

$15-17 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in veterinary medicine 

Certified veterinary assistant

This is a CARE position offering limited benefits, including health insurance and paid time off. When appropriate certifications are achieved, promotional opportunities to a level II title may be available. This position will also become eligible for transition into a TEAMS (staff) salary plan.
