Expected salary range of $154,800 to $172,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Provides overall management of the Reactor Engineering function at one or more nuclear plants. Develops and implements long-term strategic reactivity station plans and day to day administration of all aspects of these activities. Manages the development of fuel and SNM moves, including refueling outage planning and oversight

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manages Reactor Engineering resources at one or more stations to assure functional area activities are executed with an appropriate balance of operational excellence, safety, and cost, while meeting regulatory requirements.

  • Manage the performance and development of assigned Reactor Engineering personnel and cadre relative to site and corporate objectives and provide focus on the attainment of high-quality results.

  • Directly and through subordinates, fulfill engineering and technical leadership accountability regarding short-term and long-term reactor engineering programs that impact site operations. Ensure that functional area support is provided for business plan initiatives.

  • Serve as the senior station expert and SFAM at one more stations for the management of reactivity and nuclear fuel, including the implementation of reload core designs and cycle management.

  • Participate in Business Planning, Budget, and Business Performance review regarding assigned personnel. Manages functional area Business Initiatives while interfacing with Corporate Operations and Nuclear Fuels.

  • Participate as a senior resource to Exelon-wide programs and initiatives regarding Reactivity Management and Operational Excellence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS Engineering or equivalent technical degree

  • Ten years professional-level engineering experience

  • Five years of commercial nuclear power plant reactor engineering experience

  • Fulfills requirements of ANSI N18.1

  • 4 years power plant which shall include 1 year nuclear power plant experience and 1 year of supervisory or management experience AND shall have 2 years of related reactor engineering experience.

  • During the nuclear power plant experience, the individual shall have participated in the reactor engineering section activities at a nuclear power plant during the following periods:(a) Initial fueling or refueling,(b) Initial startup test program or post refueling outage startup test program,(c) Power increase from 10% to 100%, including stabilization of xenon,(d) Rod sequence exchange (BWR only),(e) 2 months of operation above 20% power.

  • FLS/Management selection testing

  • Ability to travel to assigned sites to provide oversight

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Nuclear Engineering degree

  • Professional Engineer Designation

  • Holds Qualified Nuclear Engineering (QNE) or Senior Reactor Operator certification / license

  • Multi-site experience

  • Advanced technical degree or MBA
