PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position is responsible for supporting the nuclear fleet for all aspects of mechanical valve repairs. The team will focus on specialty skills for in-body valve repairs.

The Corporate Valve Services team supports a culture of continuous improvement by participating in training, reinforcing standards, reporting, and mitigating unsafe or undesirable conditions, and utilizing the corrective action program.

Position requires ability to work on cross-functional teams on major projects while adhering to the conduct of maintenance and established maintenance standards and practices.

Will be required to support all sites in their region and may require up to 60% overnight travel.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform in valve inspection and mechanical repairs, including seat lapping, in-body welding, and machining in accordance with procedures and standards. (40%)

• Provide technical support to plant operations, maintenance staff and engineering to the level of training received. (30%)

• Perform verification checks on assigned plant equipment.

• Use, review and recommend revisions to procedures, prints, technical manuals, and other documents as required to the level of training received. (5%)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED;

  • Receive a passing score on the MASS test;

  • Successfully complete a virtual proficiency weld assessment;

  • Have a valid Driver’s License;

  • Receive a passing score on the NGET tests;

  • Ability to work back shifts and weekends;

  • Ability to gain unescorted nuclear plant access;

AND at least 1 of the following 4 bullets:

  • Associates Degree in a technical field

OR

  • 2 years minimum related mechanical military experience

OR

  • 2 years minimum of equivalent journeyperson experience in a mechanical trade or equivalent

OR

  • Be a Constellation Senior Mechanic, Nuclear, Senior Mechanic, Mechanic A or Mechanic B

Starting pay rate $63.88/hr.
