You’ll be a key part of the launch team that will help bring the electrification revolution to driveways, job sites, and highways everywhere. BlueOval Battery Park Michigan will produce the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells to power the next-generation Ford EV passenger vehicles and trucks under development.

This new wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company will create more than 1,700 jobs when production begins in 2026.

What You'll Do…

I. Production Planning & Control:

  • Demand Planning & Forecasting: Organize and plan material requirements, releasing purchasing plans based on orders and forecasts.

  • Ford Production System (FPS) Support: Develop and implement Ford Production System, industrial material flow and lean manufacturing practices.

  • ERP System Support: Support the MP&L MRP Development and Deployment Plan through the Explore, Realization, Test, and Hypercare phase of launching SAP.

  • Scheduling & Sequencing: Manage the plant's production schedules, incorporating customer releases, engineering changes, and supply chain constraints. Recommend the most economical production work schedules.

  • Forward Model Management: Manage the department's forward model, including engineering change control and balance outs.

  • Just-in-Time (JIT) Delivery: Ensure just-in-time material flow to avoid production disruptions. Respond to customer changes, quality containments, shipping adjustments, and schedule changes.

II. Supply Chain Management:

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Participate in supplier capacity constraint management and resolution. Monitor abnormal supplier deliveries and work to improve overall delivery rates.

  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, including stockpiling and distribution. Control inventory turnover rates and manage obsolete stock.

  • Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with external logistics providers as needed. Review premium freight expedites for improvement opportunities.

  • Supply Chain Risk Management: Track timely material delivery, provide early warnings of abnormalities, and solve supply issues in a timely manner.

III. Data Management & Reporting:

  • ERP System Management: Identify and correct data gaps in the SAP system, including addressing missed advanced ship notices, production counts, receiving/shipping discrepancies, and class 1 bailee transactions. Manage gatekeeper approval for SAP access.

  • Performance Reporting: Submit plant production performance reports to plant and division management. Assure accurate SQDCPME scorecards, policy deployment reports, and Plant Operating Review reports.

  • Data Analysis: Support data management and policy deployment objectives at the plant level. Develop inventory and cost reduction roadmaps for MP&L tasks.

  • System Improvement: Assist in the development of information and process systems.

IV. Team Leadership & Development:

  • Team Meetings: Prepare Production Control team meeting information and assure attendance and planning at monthly inventory meetings. Attend morning start-up meetings to communicate schedule updates, part availability, supply issues, and inventory count verifications.

  • Employee Development: Coach and counsel employees on operational issues, career development, performance issues, and MP&L knowledge. Create and review individual performance reviews. Ensure all departmental employees participate in required training. Represent and coordinate the department GSR's career planning.

  • Performance Management: Administer salary performance reviews, reward, and recognize employees, and address corrective actions as needed.

  • Prioritization & Resource Allocation: Prioritize work on key issues and allocate resources effectively.

  • Compliance & Auditing: Support VCA, FPS, QS9000, SHARP, ISO14001, SOX, and Hazmat internal and external audits. Perform monthly plant audits. Review plant procedures to align with departmental procedures. Support/oversee the cycle verification program.

V. Communication & Collaboration:

  • Internal Communication: Communicate critical MP&L issues to plant and division supply chain and scheduling management. Assure MP&L representation during quality campaign meetings.

  • External Communication: Provide coordination with external logistics providers as needed.

VI. Other:

  • Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including weekends, to meet production demands.

You'll Have…

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.

  • 5+ years’ experience in production planning management experience in large enterprises (materials, electronics, automotive and other industries).

  • 8+ years’ experience in large manufacturing enterprises.

  • Managerial experience

  • Proficiency in office software, familiar with ERP or SAP systems.

  • Excellent data analysis ability.

Even Better, You'll Have…

  • Degree in industrial engineering, management science and engineering related field.

  • Knowledge and skills: Familiar with the operation process of manufacturing enterprise warehouse, with the ability of quality management, process optimization and overall organization.

  • Proficient in ERP software such as SAP, Office software, excellent document writing ability.

This role will start remote and then will be working hybrid out of Marshall, MI, with the expectation to be on-Site at Marshall once building construction and timing is established (relocation package available).

Once your employment with Ford commences, you will be assigned to BlueOval Battery Michigan LLC. You will continue to be employed by Ford Motor Company but work at BlueOval Battery Michigan, Ford’s wholly owned subsidiary located in Marshall, Michigan. You will remain an at-will employee at all times during your employment with Ford or any Ford affiliate or subsidiary with which you later become employed.
