JOB REQUIREMENTS: Auburn Ridge is a leader in the cabinet and millwork industry, providing innovative solutions and high-quality building products to builders. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our team. As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our production teams have the materials and resources they need to meet project deadlines and maintain quality standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure the best prices and quality materials. Confer with vendors to obtain product and/or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule as requested.Procurement of Materials: Source and purchase materials, tools, and supplies necessary for production, ensuring timely delivery to meet project deadlines. Monitor inventory levels and place orders to prevent shortages while avoiding excess inventory.Cost Management: Analyze and monitor purchasing costs to ensure adherence to budgets and cost-saving initiatives. Regularly review market trends and pricing to ensure competitive procurement strategies.Quality Assurance: Ensure that all purchased materials meet the company\'s quality standards and specifications. Address and resolve any issues with suppliers, including delays, defects, or discrepancies in orders.Collaboration with Team: Work closely with the production and engineering teams to understand material requirements and project timelines. Communicate effectively with suppliers, internal teams, and management to ensure alignment on purchasing needs.The successful candidate will possess: Procurement Expertise: Proven experience in purchasing or procurement, ideally within the construction or manufacturing industry. Familiarity with a wide range of materials used in cabinet and millwork production.Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to secure the best terms and prices with suppliers. Ability to manage vendor relationships and resolve conflicts professionally.Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to managing purchase orders, vendor acknowledgements, back orders and inventory levels. Ability to identify and address potential supply chain issues before they impact production.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to evaluate costs, budgets, and market trends. Proficiency with procurement software and tools to track purchases and manage supplier data.Educational Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
