Field Service Technician – Material Handling Equipment (100% Travel)

Location: PA, NJ, NY, MA, MD, NH, VA, CT (Must reside in one of these states)

Travel: 100% throughout Northeast US (ME to VA, occasionally nationwide)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Honeywell is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our field service team. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful on-site installation, servicing, and repair of complex material handling equipment and systems, including conveyors, palletizers, and robots. If you're passionate about troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working with advanced technology, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

This position involves extensive travel in the Northeast region, covering the area from Maine to Virginia, up to the coast and occasionally nationwide.

The ideal candidate must be based in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts Maryland, New Hampshire, Virginia or Connecticut; and reside within one hour from an airport. A company vehicle will be provided (rental car).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, servicing, and repair of material handling systems, including conveyors, palletizers, and robots.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems with minimal supervision.

  • Program and service Allen Bradley PLCs using Rockwell Software.

  • Follow detailed work instructions and collaborate with engineering teams to update or amend outdated instructions.

  • Continuously improve training guides and documentation for both internal teams and customers.

  • Provide on-site customer training on equipment usage, troubleshooting, and basic repair procedures.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by promptly addressing any challenges related to equipment delivery and installation.

Compensation information

The annual base salary range for this position is $55,000-$78,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • At least 1 year of experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Proven experience with high voltage.

WE VALUE

  • Previous experience in the material handling industry.

  • Hands-on experience working with conveyor systems.

  • Experience with installation and technical service of equipment.

  • Allen Bradley PLC or similar experience.

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Ability to identify and correct mistakes in technical documentation and instructions.

  • A college degree or technical/professional certifications are a plus.
