Novant Health House Supervisor in Matthews, North Carolina

Job Summary

The House Supervisor will act as the in-house administrative representative and resource person for all patients, staff, staff physicians, and visitors.

  • Job Title: House Supervisor

  • Location: Matthews Medical Center in Matthews, NC

  • Schedule: PRN, 12 hour shifts 6p-6a, 1 shift every 6 weeks

  • Supervision: Serves as administrative representative in the absence of a member of the administrative team. Exercises independent judgment free from restrictive instructions and directions of superiors. Listens and acts to resolve employee gripes and/or complaints.

  • Operations: Coordinates all operational activities for the Departments in collaboration with Unit Directors/Managers for their assigned shift. Facilitates communication and problem resolution; promotes good intra and interdepartmental relationships. Facilitates in-bound and/or out-bound acute care facility transfers.

  • Coverage: Assigns the float and temporary nursing personnel to appropriate areas and duties, reviews clinical experience and the needs of the nursing units. Utilizes the Directors and Administrator-on-call as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree - BSN/BA/BS, required. Graduate Degree, preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years previous nursing experience, required. Previous management experience, preferred.

  • Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. BLS, ACLS, Notary (can be obtained during training)

  • Additional Skills (required): Has knowledge, skills, and ability necessary to modify care and interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care according to patient’s age, health and developmental status. Has demonstrated sound and effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, good interpersonal skills, and good intra and interdepartmental relationships.

  • Additional Skills (preferred): Clemmons Medical Center and Kernersville Medical Center require critical care or ED experience.
