Assist Project Managers in all aspects of the execution of projects for successful project execution, financial, scheduling and technical management in accordance with contract requirements, project plans and established corporate policies. Execution of work will include cost estimating, schedule development and forecasting, project planning, design, product data research/submittals, preparation/participation in meetings, coordination with QCM, Site Safety, and Superintendent, field execution and project closeout.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)

  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures

  • Work with Pre-Construction Team in any aspect required to successfully “Kick-Off” projects.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Contractor Quality Control Plan

  • Accident Prevention Plan

  • Demolition Plan

  • Environmental Protection Plan

  • Waste Management Plan

  • Construction Work Plan

  • Review specifications to create, edit, and maintain submittal register to ensure submittal requirements are followed and the submittals required are appropriate for the project; work with the Project Manager and / or Quality Control Manager to clarify with the client applicable project submittals

  • Generate and track all project submittal documents (Designer of Record and/or Client) and send to QCM for approval (i.e. Eng 4025 forms, etc.)

  • Support establishment of project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of job specifications, project requirements and corporate policies. Assist in the development and management of the project schedule

  • Act as secondary point of contact with all clients and subcontractors / vendors.

  • Assist the Project Managers to prepare proposals and negotiate revisions if applicable, changes and additions to proposal agreements with architects, engineers, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors. Works closely with project coordinators in support of the project requirements

  • Track project metrics to ensure project is completed on schedule, within budget and within established quality standards

  • Assist in managing the financial aspects of projects profitably while protecting the company’s interest, and maintaining good relationship with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.

  • Assist Project Manager with procurement (purchase orders) and requisition to vendors, supplies, materials or equipment within approved guidelines. This would include assisting with drafting subcontract(s) for Project Management review.

  • Support on site activities. Work on site performing various tasks to assist the Project Superintendent, Quality Control Manager and Site Safety and Health Officer.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Follow-up with material / equipment suppliers and subcontractors on project deliverables

  • Entry level submittal review / preparation for Quality Control Manager Review

  • Submittal tracking

  • Create and track RFIs

  • Track client change orders

  • Scheduling of meetings

  • Correspondence with subcontractors / vendors

  • General paperwork / reporting support

  • Assist with site access. This includes working with CMS personnel as well as subcontractors / vendors requiring access to obtain Base badging, access to restricted areas and coordinating escorts, as needed.

  • Participate in project meetings. Prepare agendas and meeting minutes as required.

  • Assist in updating monthly schedule / invoice documents for client approval and invoicing.

  • Assist with project closeout activities. This includes compiling information for the project summary upon completion of the project and generation of the DD1354 (Transfer of Ownership) for client review and approval prior to turning over the project.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering and 1-2 years related experience; or

  • An Associate’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering and a minimum of 3 -4 years of related experience; or

  • A High School diploma and a minimum of 6 years of related experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Successful candidate must have civil and/or structural project experience

  • Must have prior field experience on a construction site

  • Ability to effectively work as part of a cohesive team working together to achieve project goals

  • Ability to professionally communicate both verbally and in writing is required. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential

  • Ability to professionally represent the company, verbally, in writing, and in person, to clients, associates and all others and to expand relationships and grow the business

  • Thorough knowledge of construction or other related technology, scheduling, procedures, project contracts, plan and specification reading, financial planning and tracking and equipment are required

  • Ability to accurately organize, prioritize, plan, and complete all job responsibilities

  • Ability to assume responsibility, achieve assigned goals and work effectively with others

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6

  • Performs assignments with minimal supervision; works independently

  • Must be a US Citizen

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Works under direction of the Project Managers and Director of Operations.

Working Conditions

  • Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials

  • Regularly required to sit or stand, bend, and reach

  • Ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds and walk a project site

  • Must have valid driver’s license, be insurable on the company insurance and able to travel as required

  • Must be able to travel to project sites as needed
