Description
CMS is currently looking for a Scheduler. Responsible for planning and scheduling of construction work on small- and large-scale projects. Develops well defined and properly sequenced work activities at various preconstruction, construction, and close-out stages by analyzing all contract and proposal data. Understands the flow and logistics needed for project execution. Evaluates current procedures and recommends changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects. Works closely with Project Management Team in monitoring and analyzing the status of each project.
Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)
Engage construction team members to develop and deliver a well-planned, logical project schedule
Use Primavera scheduling tool as a means to identify critical path schedules for construction projects
Input project schedules into Primavera
Review third-party design and/or construction schedules and provide written comments
Develop and analyze cost, labor, and resource requirements within the Primavera schedule
Review and evaluate change orders as it relates to delays and the creation of time impact analysis
Obtain and report on materials procurement tasks within the schedule. Assess impacts to the schedule based on material deliveries.
Manage changes to the schedule and keep construction team aware of changes to the schedule
Actively participate in project review meetings to represent construction schedule activities and provide progress report documents
Promptly reports schedule slippage
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering or related field; or
An Associate’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering or any related field and 1 – 5 years of scheduling experience in direct support of an active construction project; or
A High School diploma and 7 years of construction scheduling experience in direct support of an active construction project
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated working knowledge of scheduling deliverables, projects and associated activities
Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills necessary to analyze and manage complex schedules involving multiple tasks
Experience with government and commercial construction projects
Experience with Design-Build, Mechanical and Fabrication projects
Exposure and / or proficient with Primavera, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office
Ability to work well with others, a self-starter with results-driven focus
Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Works under the direction of the Senior Scheduling Manger
Working Conditions
Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials
Regularly required to sit or stand, bend, and reach
Regularly required to drive on company business and be available for travel
Must be able to walk a project site
Must have a valid drivers license and be insurable under the company auto insurance policy
