Paychex North America Inc. seeks a full time Software Engineer V at our offices located at 8605 Freeport Parkway, Suite 100, Irving, TX 75063.

Job Title: Software Engineer V

Job Duties: To work on application development projects using Agile methodology, performing requirements analysis and providing input to requirement documents as well as designing, developing and implementing web and service based applications using Ruby on Rails.

Responsibilities

• Duties Include:

• Work on third party integrations using RESTful JSON, SOAP based APIs to ensure system data consistency by using distributed streaming platform and periodically review application

• security health;

• Design the storage of metadata, storage of data, application programming interfaces, and the distributed jobs, which are consistent, redundant, and horizontally scalable;

• Code and implement solutions into software by implementing the functionality, writing tests to ascertain the functionality, and writing tools for supportability and debugging purposes;

• Collaborate with application and infrastructure architects to design system and process workflows to deliver high performing product suite;

• Analyze relational database Postgres database models, develop high performant queries, and recommend performance enhancements to existing database interfaces; and

• Lead the triage and resolution of complex system issues involving live production clients by troubleshooting various components of the application and providing technical support.

Qualifications

• Position Requirements:

  Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equiv.) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Applications, or closely related field, plus 5 years of experience in any software development role.

  Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include:

• 5 years of experience working with the following Object-Oriented languages: Ruby on Rails, Postgres, MySQL, Redis, Javascript, Backbone JS, VueJS, React, React Native and NodeJS;

• 5 years of experience coding and completing design review utilizing Design Patterns, optimization/performance SQL queries, Caching, and Sidekiq;

• 5 years of experience with distributed systems including RESTful & SOAP API’s service, and Microservice; and

• 5 years of experience working with the following tools: Jira, Pivotal Tracker, Android Studio, Xcode, Webflow, Sublime Text and VS Code Editor.

  May work remotely from any location in the U.S.

  Salary: $150,000 - $155,000 per year.

• Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $150,000-$155,000 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
