Insight Global Mechanical Project Manager in Mc Lean, Virginia

Job Description

One of Insight Global's clients has an immediate opening for a full-time, ON-SITE in McLean, Virginia, experienced Project Manager to lead the design and production of specialty transportation platforms.

Our ideal candidate will have the combination of practical project management skills, an innovative, problem-solving approach to challenges, strategic perspective and a winner's spirit developed through prior experience. A natural, confident leader with self-starting instincts, great communication skills and no reluctance to act independently will fit perfectly into the team culture.

Objectives of this Role

* Strategize, plan, implement and maintain program initiatives that meet and advance company success and growth objectives

* Oversee and manage multiple project teams, ensuring program goals are reached

* Manage budget and funding channels for maximum productivity

* Enable program growth by supporting business development and capture of related projects and contracts

* Leverage experience, communication and technical skills to develop a deep understanding of customer's challenges and identify areas where the company can help

* Maintain organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance

* Develop program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement.

Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain close coordination with customers on current projects and development of future projects.

* Manage all aspects of multiple projects including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders

* Work closely with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget and timing for new initiatives

* Manage and coordinate program vendor and internal resources performance

* Accurately forecast capital, expense and utilization across projects

* Initiate and update status reports - track and monitor project progress

* Serve as key participant in program and project team meetings

* Manage all project related communications to escalate key issues and present options for resolution to leadership.

* Ensure quality assurance procedures are followed

* Support in the development of quotations and proposals.

Skills and Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a technical discipline

* 5 to 10 years direct experience in a technical industry such as defense/aerospace or manufacturing. (new product development; supply chain / logistics; manufacturing; operations research and analysis; product rollout and IOC and FOC fielding)

* 3-5 years of experience as an assistant project manager or program manager leading and directing product delivery projects

* General knowledge of manufacturing techniques materials, and quality control processes

* Exceptional leadership, communications, time and resources skills

* Acute attention to detail

* Working knowledge of change management and performance evaluation processes

* Exceptional customer success focus, intuition and problem-solving ability

* Opportunity identification and prosecution

* Tact, punctuality, loyalty and strong sense of responsibility and accountability

* IT office tools proficient in Microsoft Office / 365, Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and social media (LinkedIn)

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Project Management Professional Certification * Domestic and international pro-traveler

* Supply chain operations and logistics management experience

* Advanced degree and practical experience in systems engineering

* Strong working knowledge of CRM software

* Proposal writing experience

* Multi-lingual; German, Danish,, French, Japanese null
