Summary This job opportunity is for an DIRECTOR OF FORCE SUPPORT, position description D2696000, within the 108TH FSS of the New Jersey Air National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. Responsibilities As an DIRECTOR OF FORCE SUPPORT, GS-0301-13, you will: Direct, plan, organize, and oversee all support services activities of the Force Support Squadron (FSS) to supported organizational units. Direct force support activities within the Wing to include Personnel, Commander's Support Staff, Base Contingency Operations, Food Services, Mortuary & Casualty Operations, Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Fitness, Family Readiness, Force Development, Personnel Readiness, Postal and Honor Guard. Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Represent the FSS and the Wing formally and informally to outside agencies to justify, defend, or negotiate on force support matters for the Wing. Coordinate and integrate all aspects of force support for the Wing. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Areas of Consideration: CAT 1 All permanent, on-board, Title 32 Employees within the New Jersey 108th Air National Guard Military Grades: LT COL/ O-5 Must provide a current copy of AF RIP to show current rank. Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Additional Requirements: Participation in direct deposit is mandatory May be required to successfully complete a probationary period Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service Qualifications General Experience: Experience or knowledge in the following: Applying principles of organization, management, and administration Using computer and automation systems Specialized Experience: At least 36 months of experience and training in the following: Program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Developing and recommending policy Organizing and carrying out specific programs Evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations Supervisory, staff or technical work, applying practices and procedures Study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies Preparing written communications and oral presentations Education There are no education requirements for this vacancy announcement Additional Information Security Clearance Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.
