*Primary Role*

Conducts regular housekeeping of all Pa American Water Inc. facilities & grounds. Fills in for Turn Laborer as needed.

*Key Accountabilities*

 

 

  • Loads and unloads supplies, scrap and miscellaneous materials manually.
  • Climbs ladders and steps to carry out assigned tasks.
  • Operates all necessary safety equipment.
  • Painting walls and pipes from ground level as well as on scaffolding.
  • Operates gas powered pumps, generators, lawn mowers, snow blowers, grass trimmers, power washer, etc.
  • Performs snow removal, grass cutting, trimming, and clean-up of interior and exterior premises.
  • Performs excavation work such as digging ditches and trenches.
  • Erects portable scaffolding and assists in erecting pipe scaffolding.
  • Changes light bulbs as required.
  • Responds to all emergency callouts.
  • Performs visual inspections of the plant and reports problems, observations, and all irregularities to supervisors.
  • Assists Operators in changing chlorine containers when needed.
  • General Housekeeping of all facilities.

*Knowledge/Skills*

 

 

 

 

  • Thorough knowledge of safety rules and safe work practices in a plant operation.
  • Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

*Experience/Education*

 

 

 

 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid PA driver license.

*Certifications & Licenses*

 

 

 

 

  • Completion of pre-employment medical examination including drug and alcohol test

*Physical/Cognitive Requirements*

 

 

 

 

  • Able to lift, carry, and drag equipment and exert force up to forty (40) pounds; climb over and pull up oneself over obstacles; jump down from an elevated surface; climb through openings; jump over obstacles; crawl in confined areas; balance on uneven or narrow surfaces and use body force to gain entrance.
  • Climb steps and ladders on a regular basis to perform assigned tasks.
  • Work safely in an environment that includes significant noise, atmospheric conditions, and some environmental hazards that necessitate safety gear, eye protection, and occasionally a respirator.
  • Work overtime at any time of day or year as required by management.
  • Attend training sessions and participate in updated work procedures as necessary.
