We have an exciting opportunity for a position of Test Senior Software Engineer located onsite in McKinney, TX. The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) organization within RTX drives business success by providing a variety of critical engineering services across product lines and functions.

This position is focused on the development, integration, test, and maintenance of software as a part of on-site factory support of test systems to support product testing. The selected candidate will develop applications, libraries, and instrument drivers using the software style, development language, and integrated development environment specified by the organization.

The selected candidate will contribute to multidiscipline engineering teams. Typical work involves the development of both engineering and production test equipment, environments, and systems. As such, the candidate will contribute to the completion of all stages of test product development for Raytheon test products. They will be expected to act, either as a part of their team or independently, to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of test systems.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with IPTL leadership, Product Owners, and other leads to develop priorities, resolve issues, lead test software efforts, and facilitate cross-team/cross-discipline coordination and communication

  • Act for the IPT leadership in coordination with the product owners to plan the development and software builds in support of the program plan

  • Design and develop software at least 50% of the time when not performing leader duties

  • Support proposal activities such as writing Basis of Estimates and Proposal Tech Volumes

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior software engineering experience

  • Experience programming in C/C++, C#, and/or ADA.

  • Experience leading an engineering team through the software development life cycle

  • Experience working with Program Leadership, ensuring cost and schedule objectives are met

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience as Product Owner or Scrum Master

  • Experience guiding teams on how to use Agile practices and values to deliver high quality software

  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities

  • Experience with Software process development and deployment

  • EVMS certified

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
